专利说明:

The present invention relates to a bicycle support assembly for carrying an article on a bicycle for mounting on a bicycle frame, such as on a front side of a tubular member, such as a top tube, extending on the front side of a head tube of the bicycle frame. the tubular element comprising an open end in front of the head tube or behind the seat tube.
It is known to attach a carrier basket to the front of a bicycle.
This is usually done by means of a front fork frame on which a basket can be arranged.
Such a construction is, however, relatively heavy and rotates with the front fork and the front wheel, causing it to unbalance the bicycle, both during driving and when parking the bicycle.
Attaching a carrier basket to the front of a bicycle has been attempted by the present inventor by securing the basket to the top tube by means of two screws arranged on the sides, which were intended for mounting a bicycle light on site.
This construction was unsatisfactory because of the relatively low load capacity of such a carrying basket.
Furthermore, because of other materials for the frame, these holes are no longer available.
In order to overcome the desirability of a rigid but non-front wheel co-rotating support assembly, the present invention provides a bicycle support assembly for mounting to a bicycle frame, such as extending from a front of a tubular member, such as a top tube. at the front of a head tube of the bicycle frame, the tubular element comprising an open end in front of the head tube or behind the seat tube, the support assembly comprising: — a support holder, such as a support platform or basket, — a support member for providing a support of the support assembly to the tubular member, such as the top tube, the support member being mountable at or at least partially insertable into the open end.
It is an advantage of such a support assembly that it is stable due to the fixation to the frame. Another advantage of such a carrier assembly is that it is, for instance, interchangeable with a lighting element, such as a front light of the bicycle. Furthermore, virtually no frame is required for such a bicycle carrier assembly due to the direct attachment to an existing frame by means of the support member.
According to a first preferred embodiment, a tube fastener, such as an internal screw thread, is arranged in the tube element for cooperation with a carrier assembly fastener, such as an external screw thread, for mutual attachment of the tube fastener to the carrier assembly fastener. A pulling action can hereby be realized, whereby the support member is attracted in the tube element or in the open end thereof. A very stable attachment of the support member and thus the carrier holder and the bicycle carrier assembly is realized by means of this pulling action. It is advantageous if this tensile action is arranged at the top and/or for instance in the middle of the tubular element so that the tensile force is absorbed at the top while the underside of the support element is supported by gravity against the underside of the tubular element.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the support member is provided with clamping means or wedge means for providing a clamping action with an inner surface of the tube element, such as the top tube. It is an advantage of such clamping means that in an alternative manner an outward pulling force of mass on and by the support assembly is absorbed therewith. As a result, even a pipe fastener according to the previous preferred embodiment is not required. However, a preferred stop or retaining element is provided in the tube element for striking against or absorbing tensile forces.
More preferably, the clamping means, after arranging the support member in the tubular element or the open end thereof, are preloadable by means of a fastening means from the front of the open end. This advantageous embodiment is hereby implemented in an advantageous manner. By means of for instance a bolt with a nut the clamping means are drawn towards each other and forced away sideways in order to clamp against the inside of the tubular element.
Preferably, the carrier assembly herein comprises a cover member for covering the fastening means. Such a fastening means is thus invisible or ornamental during regular use of the support assembly.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the support assembly comprises a tensioning member for spanning the head tube, such as along the bottom of the tubular element, for attaching a respective part of the support assembly thereto. By means of such a spanning member, a support is advantageously realized on the carrier member at the location of the hooping member.
A further preferred support assembly wherein the tension member, when arranged on the bicycle frame, extends from substantially the left front side of the head tube extending along the rear of the head tube to substantially the right front side of the head tube. A further preferred support assembly wherein the hooping member comprises a left-hand attachment member on the substantially left front side of the head tube and a right-hand attachment member on the substantially right front side of the head tube.
Further preferred carrier assembly comprising left fastening means and/or right fastening means for respective fastening of the strapping member to the carrier holder.
A further preferred support assembly wherein the support container comprises a support frame. According to a further preferred embodiment, the support assembly comprises fastening means for a retention member or retention assembly, such as an elastic band or a net. Advantageously, this provides a provision with which an object is retained in or on the carrier assembly during, for instance, preparation of the bicycle.
Further preferably, the fastening means comprise at least one hooking member for hooking the retention member or rotation assembly thereto. By means of such a hook-over member or a combination of a few thereof, a pattern can be realized over or around the object by means of a band or elastic or elastic-like band, with which the court is stably held in the support assembly. According to preferred embodiments, this is worked out in the following ways.
A further preferred carrier assembly wherein the hook-on members provide a guiding pattern for a retention member such as an elastic band by which hooking the retention member around a hook-around member or combination of two hook-on members by means of a single hooking movement or hooking action results in a overlap pattern with which the retention member overhangs the carrier holder or an object arranged thereon is skipped.
A further preferred carrier assembly comprising a lighting holder formed as a front side of the tubular element for holding a lighting element, such as a front light, on the bicycle.
A further preferred carrier assembly comprising a wire guide for guiding a wire from the lighting holder to the front of the tubular element.
A further preferred support assembly wherein the wire guide is adapted to guide the wire through the support holder or a support frame thereof.
Further advantages, features and details of the present invention will be described in greater detail below with reference to one or more preferred embodiments with reference to the attached figures. Similar but not necessarily identical parts of various preferred embodiments are designated by the same reference numerals.
fig. 1 shows two views in perspective and side view, respectively, of a support assembly according to a preferred embodiment according to the present invention.
fig. 2 is an exploded perspective view of the preferred embodiment of FIG. 1.
fig. 3 is a detail view of a pipe fastener according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention.
fig. 4 is an exploded view of a detail of the preferred embodiment.
fig. 5 is an exploded view of a further detail of the preferred embodiment. A first preferred embodiment (Figs. 1-5) according to the present invention relates to a support assembly 1. The support assembly 1 is preferably mountable to a frame at the front of the the head tube, such as on top tube, such as extending in front of the head tube 8 of the bicycle frame. More preferably, a support member 5 is insertable into the open end 4 thereof.
The carrier assembly comprises a carrier holder 2 for carrying and/or holding goods to be transported with the carrier assembly. For this function of carrying or holding these goods, the carrying container 2 comprises a supporting platform 23 which extends substantially horizontally and a supporting platform side 23'. To further improve the carrying function, the carrying assembly comprises a carrying frame 22 so that a carrying basket is formed. As shown in FIG. 1, the support plate 23 comprises notches 35, 36, 34, 31, 32, 33 for holding a retention member 9, designed as an elastic band. The elastic band can be hooked in a simple manner behind the hooking member 18, which is screwed to the carrying holder 2 by means of a screw 18', such as the supporting plate hand part 23' thereof.
The support member 5 is insertable into the open end 4 of the frame for fixing the support assembly. The open end 4, as can be seen in FIG. 3, the frame has for this purpose a substantially circular wall with a tube fastening means 11 attached thereto, which on the inside is provided with a passage 12 with a screw thread. The support member 5 is fixed thereto by means of a bolt 12'. The support member 5 is adapted per se to receive a bolt 15 for fixing the carrier holder 2 thereto, made by means of support platform 23.
Furthermore, the span member 6 is provided which extends from the rear on either side of the head tube to the front thereof. On this front side, the tensioning element 6 is provided with two screw holes 17' for receiving the bolts 17 with which the carrying holder is screwed to the tensioning element.
6. As such, the support member is secured both to the tensioning member 6 by means of the bolts 17 and to the support member 5 by means of the bolt 15. Also provided is a buffer 16 between the head tube 8 and the support member for bearing against it. clamp one of the support member by tension forces provided by the bolts 17 and 15. Since without the support assembly, the open end 4 of the bicycle frame is used as a locating position of a front lamp of the bicycle and thus this front lamp has to be removed for arranging the support member 5 of the support assembly therein, the bicycle lacks the function of front light during use of the support assembly. In order to overcome this problem, as shown in FIG. 1, a lighting holder 3 arranged at the front of the carrier assembly for holding the front light 3' of the bicycle as a preferred embodiment of the lighting element. The wire guide as indicated above is shown in FIG. 4 and formed therein as a series of hooks 12. In the foregoing, the present invention has been described with reference to some preferred embodiments. Various aspects of various embodiments are deemed to be described in conjunction with one another with all combinations deemed to be within the scope of the invention upon reading by a person skilled in the art on the basis of this document by a person skilled in the art.
